Guided Montana Whitewater Rafting Trip In Glacier National Park

Did you know that the glaciers in Glacier National Park have mostly melted off and disappeared? Well, luckily for us we can still enjoy those melted glaciers via a whitewater rafting trip on the Middle-Fork of the Flathead River, comprised of raging rapids from that very same glacial melt. GuideTime recently went on a guided whitewater rafting trip Glacier National Park Middle-Fork River trip. GuideTime offers rafting, fishing, horseback, and overnight trips. GuideTime is one of only four outfitters that has a permit to offer Glacier whitewater trips on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River. GuideTime has the longest standing Glacier National Park float permit on the Middle Fork, a permit that had been grandfathered down from the first-ever owner of a permit at this location. Of the four rafting outfitters, GuideTime is the only one that is still a mom-and-pop operation, which is a factor that adds to the allure of experiencing a real local Montana experience.

During the content shoot, we got to experience the expert guided Full-Day Whitewater Rafting Trip. Clients can expect a leisurely and therapeutic start to the raft trip before getting to the white water portions of the river. Our guide, Nick, was extremely well-versed in the history of Glacier National Park (on the right side of the river) and the national forest (on the left). Anything that one would hope to have pointed out during the trip, including wildlife and geography, was brought to the attention of everyone in the boat. While we only got to experience Nick as a guide, I could tell from the energy and excitement from the clients in the other rafts that the other guides were of equally high quality. If you have any concerns about your safety on the river, your guides will put you to ease with their skills and knowledge of the river. That is in addition to the rigorous Wilderness First Aid, CPR, and River Rescue certifications that they are required to complete.

As part of the full-day trip, before getting to the majority of the white water rapids we stopped for a lunch. The guides were able to quickly set up a lunch spread for clients to enjoy and then broke it down without leaving a trace. We then progressed into the class-2 and class-3 rapids that were all extremely exciting and got your adrenaline pumping. There were all kinds of different variations of rapids, each with its own name, that kept the trip even more engaging. I don’t want to spoil the trip for anyone, so, I’ll just say that I would highly recommend looking into booking a guided whitewater adventure on the GuideTime Marketplace. If you are interested in experiencing what white water rafting is like, look no further than GuideTime to experience the beautiful Glacier National Park.
