This is a remote float in the wilderness launching near the town of Stanley, Idaho. Rafting guests will enjoy immense eco-system diversity and very little intrusion from the outside world. This is a great time to forget about the hustle and bustle of the busy world your leaving behind with little to no cell phone service throughout the trip.

World-class certified whitewater rafting guides will take all the work out of this adventure providing all the amenities needed for a comfortable rafting trip like expert guiding instruction for class IV rapids, cooking all meals, gear hauling, and making recommendations for last minute items that can be purchased in town. Be sure to bring your fishing gear as there will be many opportunities to cast a line, and land trout, smallmouth bass, sturgeon, and the famous Idaho steelhead.

The guided whitewater rafting season on the Salmon River has limited availability from small to large groups and runs from early June through September with 2-7 day trips available to customize. You can expect to fish 5 to 7 runs in a day with a professionally licensed fishing guide having local knowledge. Cover areas on the river that carry a swung fly across the current. There is nothing like catching a steelhead on a swung fly, but the journey is a commitment. We refer to steelhead as “Unicorns” because of the scarcity within our ecosystems. They are aggressive and large which makes the fight particularly memorable and rewarding when landing one in the net.

With steelhead fishing, success is not measured in high catch rates, but success is more measured with the innate ability to stick with the process. Oftentimes, multiple days of guided fishing are required to hook a steelhead on a swung fly, but the rush and effort of battling a steelhead are worth the effort after dedicating hard-earned time to the catch. Even when a fish is lost after hooking it, that sensation will be engrained in your memory.
