Guided Montana Whitewater Rafting Alberton Gorge

Were you planning on going to Glacier National Park but missed out on the Going to the Sun Road passes?  Well, if you're looking for an alternative activity, we have the solution for you In the Alberton Gorge section of the Clark-Fork River, no time is wasted getting to a thrilling guided whitewater experience.  Luckily for me, I was going down the river in the extremely experienced hands of GuideTime.  When it comes to Montana, the spotlight for locations to visit is Glacier National Park, Flathead Lake, Bozeman, and Missoula.  But if you overlook Alberton Gorge as a place to stop and experience white water rafting, you might be missing out.

GuideTime runs a smooth operation, headquartered on an impressive ranch style spread they have a quick trip to the shop where they meet clients near the river.  After getting geared up, you walk the rafts down a slide-like ramp and into the gorge.  Once in the boat, you quickly descend through a few small rapids before reaching the larger whitewater.

It shouldn’t be understated that the surrounding scenery on either side of you as you float down the Clark Fork River is some of the most beautiful natural landscapes that Montana has to offer.  This unrivaled beauty coincides with some of the most thrilling rapids that I have experienced since going on trips as part of GuideTime.  As always I don’t want to spoil your experience or reveal all the guide’s tricks that make for a fun trip.  But that being said, if you are looking for an awesome Montana experience in a lesser-known location, a GuideTime rafting trip in the Alberton Gorge is for you!  Keep in mind that water levels in Montana rivers have been lower than usual due to getting less snow this past winter.  You’ll want to do some research as the water levels can certainly impact rafting conditions, as of now the conditions are great!
